Strawberry and rosemary sangria

On days like this we definitely deserve a drink!

And if we're going to have a drink then let's make it fun!

This is not a classic sangria at all, but it's delicious and it has strawberries and spices in it. Soooo good and refreshing.

Ingredients:

  • 10 large strawberries

  • 1 bottle of dry white wine (750 ml)

  • Half a tablespoon of allspice

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • Teaspoon sea salt

  • Half a teaspoon of cloves (unground)

  • teaspoon of vanilla extract

  • 4-6 stalks of rosemary (can be replaced with thyme)

  • A tablespoon full of brown sugar

  • 3 tablespoons maple

  • 40 ml orange liqueur / rum (optional)

  • 1 bottle of cava

Preparation:

  • Wash the strawberries, cut in half and put it in a pot.

  • Add all the other ingredients except the cava.

  • Cook over high heat until the wine comes to a boil and transfer to a low heat.

  • Cook for another 15-20 minutes and turn off the heat.

  • Cool the sangria and let the flavors continue to evolve.

  • Wait at least an hour or two and then strain the sangria.

  • In a lowball / wine glass put ice, pour sangria down to half a glass and add cava to the end.

  • Garnish with fresh strawberries and rosemary.

Cheers!
